— Jeppe Skovgaard, Movement Teacher (for photo and video project)

Karup Photography is curiosity driven photography. I've always loved to bring out and look at that what is normally invisible to us. A feeling of the moment, a group energy, small objects, too small to notice, motion, too fast to perceive, emotions, fleeing, landscapes, ever-changing.

Since I've always done a lot of movement, I soon started to find my interest of capturing people moving and playing. Light and shade and they play between contrast is what really fascinates me. Noticing the beauty of movement everywhere also led me to videography. Offering new opportunities to catch movement in nature, people, intersecting patterns, wind in the grass and so much more... especially the artful motions in acroyoga is something that captures my imagination.

My passion for capturing images started in my early twenties, when I found my parents' SLR film-camera and was allowed to take some photos and have them developed. It astonished me how much I could not only freeze moments, but actually paint a portrait of our reality, filled with wonder everywhere, but often unnoticed in a much too busy world. Movement, shadows, texture, details, patterns, smiles, tears, shapes...
